SPRING FEVER

On Monday when the weather was so nice I took the kids outside to play. Briley loved it, she was able to ride her bike around the driveway. It was so nice to have a taste of Spring. Parker liked the nice weather too.

Parker is getting so big. He was weighed last friday at the doctors office and he came in at 18lbs 6oz. Being sick didn't slow him down any. But because he is getting to be a big boy now he is getting tired of his swing so we got out the SAUCER. He actually likes it. He turned himself all the way around once and tried eating the elephant. It doesn't keep him occupied for too long but usually long enough to get at least one thing done. Better than nothing I guess. He is also starting to eat rice cereal. I know that it seems early to start but he is ready. He is working that tongue and smacking his lips when ever he sees food go by.

As for Briley she is cute as ever. She is going through those terrible two's still. She goes through phases. She can get really mean, yet so fun and sweet and cute. She is such a girly girl too. She loves wearing her dresses and having her fingernails and toenails painted. But she hates to have her hair done. I try to do her hair everyday so she will get used to it. She saw me use my strait iron on my hair and wanted me to use it on hers so I did. I curled it some and she actually held still for me to do it. Now occasionally she will ask me to do it to her hair again. Then she will look in the mirror and say "it is so butiful."

Yucky colds...

The past few days we have all been sick. On Friday night I was in the ER with Parker because he woke up with a cough and was not right. He was treated with a steroid for Croop. On Monday Briley and Parker were at the doctors office due to coughs and a fever. Briley left with instructions to take tylenol and Parker was diagnosed with RSV. So we have been doing breathing treatments with Parker 4 times a day. I must tell you all that the first couple days and nights sleep was not possible, between the two kids it did not happen. But things have gotten better. Today we went back to the doctor and they are both on antibiotics with the hope that this will help cure it. Parker's RSV is not too serious I think we caught it early. In spite of the coughing and neediness they are both still really happy. Andrew and I are trying to avoid the sickness as much as possible. Luckily we have just had sore throats for a couple days but I don't think it's anything serious. Besides that we are doing good. We had some friends from California come out to Utah and it was so good to spend some time with them. Thanks Tyler and Erin for making time to hang out, your girls are getting cuter and cuter.

So we all know that potty training is not easy. I have been told that one day they will make up their minds and it will be so easy. I am still waiting for that to happen. I am waiting for that magical moment. Patiently as I can. We still try to encourage it though. Here is the latest attempt of encouragement....

What a great place for the panties don't ya think? Needless to say we are still working at it.

And I had to throw in a picture of Parker. I asked Andrew to bring up a basket for me but of course Briley had to go help him and he was holding Parker at the time. Here is the best way to get back up stairs with all three things. Briley was being such a big helper as you can see. And Parker was just kicked back smiling.

On Sunday I had Parker in his crib and had just gotten Briley dressed for church. So Andrew and I were getting ready. When ever Parker fusses I ask Briley to go check on him and make him happy. One time she was holding his hand through the crib, and other times she is talking or singing to him. This time when I went to check on them I found Briley sitting next to him playing with him. By the time I got my camera she was laying down with him. It was so cute! I asked her how she got up there and she said like this as she showed me how she climbed up, "is that tricky?" she asked me. What a funny girl. She loves her little brother and is so good with him. Thank you Briley for being such a good big sister! Parker is also at the stage where he is just fascinated with her. Most likely because she is so crazy and is always singing or dancing or making lots of fun noises. He loves to watch her though.

Parker is also starting to SMILE a lot more and even starting to LAUGH. He is now 4 months old and went in for his check up Monday and is 18 lbs and about 26 inches long. He is in the 80th percentile in height 90th percentile in weight and head circumference. So he is just fat and happy. Briley was walking and almost a year at this weight. Boys are defiantly different than girls. But I would not trade him for anything. Maybe a few pounds lighter but he is perfect the way he is. He is so fun. I love chunky babies there is so much more to kiss and pinch, squeeze and love. My kids sure make me happy.

JAZZ GAME

Here we are at the Jazz game last Tuesday. Does it look like Parker is having fun? We were given tickets on row 7 center court. We left Briley with friends and took Parker. It was so loud that Andrew was worried about his little ears so this is how he sat most of the game. Good thing we were late and only had to sit though the second half of the game. He was so good though. Andrew said that it was almost like a date only taking one kid with us. Thank you Brad and Lisa for our date! It was a lot of fun. The Jazz won and the seats were amazing. --- Okay so since I am new at this blogging thing I just figured out that people have left me comments. I did not realize that one could do such a thing. So thank you everyone who has left me a comment. I do not know how to necessarily reply to them besides e-mail. So if there is another way you blog experts out there then let me know. If there is anything else that I should be aware of or that is fun for me to know please share you info. I have figured out how to change my background thanks to Heather. Yeah for me!

Valentines Day

I know it's late, but Happy Valentines Day! For Valentines day Briley and I went to story time where Briley experienced her first valentine exchange. Here is what she ended up with. The pink bear is from Pops (grandpa parry) She was so excited. I think that she took everything out of the bag at least twice and looked at each one and had a smile from ear to ear.

For Valentines day we also made sugar cookies. You have to make sugar cookies for Valentines Day. I think Briley's favorite part was...can anyone guess? What a beater. Thank you Kitchen aid for having a lot of licking space. Briley had fun taking them to the neighbors and telling them "happy vawentines". This year for Valentines we had the pleasure of spending it with my parents. My mom and I made a nice steak dinner for the boys with baked potatoes, sauted mushrooms, Jell-o cut into hearts with whipped cream, salad and veggies. It was delicious. We figured we cooked a better meal than if we would have gone out to eat. And for dessert I found this recipe that looked so cute so I tried it. It tasted as good as it looked. And I thought it looked so cute. Here is a picture of my masterpiece. Isn't that so much fun!

Parker is still a chunk but oh so cute! He is getting more active and is starting to smile more and talk a little more. He is so much fun to watch and to kiss. Oh he has the such soft pudgy cheeks. He has also found his tongue again. He is sticking it in and out. We will see how long it lasts until he forgets about it again. But it is fun to watch him. What a tiger! Watch out ladies.

So did I say that I was going to post once a week? Yeah I did, I guess I am not getting a good start on this whole blog thing. We went to Tremonton last weekend because our niece got baptized. We are so proud of you Clarisa! While we were there, Andrew decided that Parker needed his hair cut once again. Parker got cradle cap and the front of his head went bald, then as he sleeps he rubs his hand on the left side of his head and he rubbed it bald so he was not looking so hot on the top of his head. Well this is his before picture....

This is how Andrew decided to "cut" his hair. I almost cried when I saw what he was doing. I was not happy. I thought he was going to use scissors and trim it down not shave it off.

And here is the finished look. He looks really chunky here. But as time has passed he does look better, maybe because it is growing back a little. It just took me a few days to get used to it.

Moving on... Having kids can be so much fun. I have to keep telling myself this sometimes to get through the day. Then I look at pictures like this of Briley and laugh because once they make up their mind about something there is no changing it. Even though it was night time Briley needed to have her sunglasses. Not to mention the hat that she had to put on herself. My little independent girl.

Once again we have hit another milestone with Parker. No it is not 18 pounds, at least I don't think so. He has officially found his thumb, or should I say thumbs. He loves to suck on them. He doesn't like the binky much anymore and not really a fan of the bottle. But once he finds those thumbs he loves them. As you can see he can also fit both of them in his mouth at the same time.
What a cute kids I have!!

What is that?...

This week has been a fun week for me. Parker saw his hand for the first time on Tuesday. He watched it as it moved wondering what it was. It was so fascinating for him. He had no idea where it came from or what it was doing but wow there it was! He actually saw it twice that day, and the second time he saw it he was laying down and looked over and there it was again!! He also got weighed this week. Is everyone ready? He is 17 lbs 6oz. Yes you read that right. He is only 15 weeks old. I guess it is just more to love.
